I have just heard some disgraceful and sickening news.
UEFA (the governing body of football in europe) have refused Spains requests to perform a minutes silence in the memory of Miki Roque. Roque lost his year-long battle with pelvic cancer at the age of 23 last sunday.
The football community is saddened, and this news will not hinder the memory of Roque, for those who played with him, supported him, and loved him. It will however anger many folk and raise questions for UEFA.
Personally words cannot describe how this makes me feel, Roque is the same age as myself, loved by so many. And yet a simple and dignified request cannot be supported.
